The Chrome Web Store edition updates automatically after a new version is reviewed and published. If you installed the earlier unpacked edition, finish pending captures, install the store edition, then disable or remove the older copy to avoid duplicate capture buttons. Your saved articles, notes and conversations remain available.
From the original to your library.
- Sign in to your workspace. New teammates need an invitation code from their administrator.
- Read the original article. Sign in to the publisher as usual. Let the article and images load.
- Capture & save to library. Click the extension. Your saved article opens in the workspace, ready to read and discuss.
Your publisher passwords and cookies stay in your browser. Captured articles join your team’s Archive; your notes and conversations remain personal.
Capture and read PDF reports
With Article Capture 1.3.5 or later, open a supported publisher report PDF and choose Capture & save to library. Choose Original layout for figures, photographs and tables, or Reading text for reflowed paragraphs and AI research. The original PDF stays in your workspace for authorized members to reuse.
If the file cannot be fetched, download the report from its publisher and select it on the import page. Capture an older text-only PDF once more to retain its original layout. Scanned pages are not OCR'd; use the original pages to check complex charts and tables.
Advanced: install the team’s Chrome download
- Sign in as a contributor or administrator, then download the extension ZIP.
- Extract it into a folder you will keep. Open
chrome://extensionsand enable Developer mode. - Choose Load unpacked, select that folder, and pin Article Capture. Check that the workspace address in the popup matches this site.
Repeat for each browser profile or device. This download does not update automatically: finish pending captures, replace the folder’s files, and click Reload after an update.
Moving from our earlier workspace address?
Sign in again here and install the extension from this workspace. The previous extension points to the old address and cannot transfer pending captures across domains. Capture any unfinished article again after updating. Your previously saved articles, notes and conversations remain available.
An article did not capture completely
Scroll through the publisher page to load its content, then capture again. Check the saved text against the original. The extension saves visible content; it does not unlock subscriptions or guarantee that every publisher layout is supported.
